Helen Strunk


Helen Strunk, 71, of Duryea, formerly of Glendale, was called home to heaven on Friday February 26th at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She was born in Duryea, January 21st, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Frank “Perk” Wudarski and Frances (Evans) Wudarski.

Helen was a member of the Glendale Gospel Chapel, Glendale, PA. She attended Moosic High School. She worked for Topps Chewing Gum, Duryea and retired after 17 years of employment from Party Time Manufacturing Co., Duryea. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Strunk, and her brother, Joseph Wudarski.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lewis Strunk; her children, Lewis Strunk Jr. of Moosic, Deborah Foss of West Pittston, Dr. Carol Medura and her husband, Chet of White Haven, Sharon Strunk and her companion, Ken Taddonio of Moosic, Lori Shimley and her husband, Scott of Pittston, and Edward “EJ” and his wife, Mindy Strunk of Duryea. Also surviving are her brothers, Frank and Thomas Wudarski; sisters, Dolores Piechota and Ann Chapman; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A blessing service will be held on Sunday, February 28th at 4:00pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon, February 28th from 2pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18512.
