Christine M. (Urbanski) Wasta, 51, of Pittston Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre surrounded by her loving family. Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lagora (Maruk) Urbanski.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. Christine was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. She was employed by the T.J. Maxx Corporation in Pittston Twp.
Chris was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Chris improved the lives of others by her participation in the Gift Of Life program.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Steven and Thomas Urbanski, and her father-in-law, Paul Wasta.
Chris is survived by her caring husband, Paul, with whom she would have celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on May 16th, 2016. She is also survived by her loving son, Paul III, whom she cherished; her sister Joanne Chesniak; mother-in-law Barbara Wasta; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14th at 9:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Joseph Verespy officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, March 13th from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
