John F. Carey Jr., 58, formerly of Avoca, passed away Tuesday, April 12th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Avoca, March 5, 1958 and was the son of the late John F. Carey and Ann (Gilroy) Carey.
John was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. He was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and worked in Public Transportation for most of his life.
He is survived by several relatives and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29th at 10:00am at Queen of the Apostles Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Interment will take place at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
