Ann “Betty” Mattei Romanoski, 83, of Duryea passed away Tuesday, April 19th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Twp. She was born in Duryea, November 22nd and was the daughter of the late Robert and Ann (Bowman) Mattei.
Betty was a lifelong member of Nativity Of Our Lord Parish (Sacred Heart Of Jesus) Duryea. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. She retired from the local garment industry. Betty loved to work with arts and crafts, she enjoyed painting and working with ceramics. She also enjoyed gardening. Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Romanoski, who died on July 26th, 2012, and her brother, Robert Mattei.
She is survived by her niece, Mary and her husband, Jeff Bleich, of Somerset NJ; nephew, Robert Mattei and his wife, Christine, of North Brunswick, NJ; and nephew, Richard Mattei and his wife Michelle, of North Brunswick, NJ. Also surviving are several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 23rd at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. John V. Polednak officiating. Friends may call on Friday evening, April 22nd, from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at the Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
