Edward Warunek Sr.


Edward Warunek Sr., 77, of Dupont, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home. He was born in Dupont, January 22nd, 1939 and was the son of the late Lucas and Sophie Trzesniak Warunek.

Edward was a member of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, Dupont. He was a graduate of Dupont High School. After high school, he joined the US Army and served from 1961-1967. Edward retired after 36 years from the Leslie Fay Corp. He was a member of the Dupont Polish Club, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Edward was a kind man and was always there to lend a helping hand for family and friends in need.

In addition to his parents, Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Paulette (Grabowski) Warunek, who died in 1994.

He is survived by his sons; Edward Jr. of Dupont and Kenneth and his wife, Claire Warunek, of Scranton; his grandchildren, Grace and Gavin Warunek; as well as his sisters, Jean and husband, Paul Plisko of Dupont; Arlene and husband Bernard Gach of California; brothers, Michael of Hawaii; James of Scranton; and Leonard, of Pringle; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday April 27th from 5pm-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment and services will take place at a time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Restoration Fund, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, Pa. 18641.
