Stanley A. Koytek, 88, of Taylor, passed away on Wednesday, August 10th at his home. He was born in Duryea, February 8th, 1928 and was the son of the late Walter and Josephine Ryzner Koytek.
Stanley was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea and a graduate of Duryea High School. After high school, he joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. Stanley worked as a baker for most of his life and retired from the Linden Bake Shop, Scranton after many years of employment. Stanley was a member of the Old Forge VFW Post 4954.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Cebula) Koytek, who passed away February 4th, 2012 and brother and sisters.
Stanley is survived by his son and caregiver, Stanley J. Koytek, at home, and sons Ronald of Duryea, and David of Gallitzin, PA. Also surviving are his brothers, Edward of Bear Creek, and Charles of Duryea, 6 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend and companion, his dog, Dixie.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, August 15th at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Stephenson St. Duryea with Fr. John V. Polednak officiating. Interment service will be privately held.
