Helen M. Rava


Helen M. Rava died peacefully surrounded by her family at Little Flower Manor on Friday, September 2, 2016. She was born on May 8, 1921, to John and Anna Cesare DePaul, in Pittston, Pa.

Educated in the Pittston City Schools, she dedicated her life to God, her church, her family, and community. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish at Holy Rosary Church for 60 years where she was president of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and known for her successful bake sales and other activities, supporting her parish in any way that was needed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; siblings, Joseph, James, Elizabeth, Genevieve, and Mary; and her beloved daughter, Sharon Rava Imbrogno.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, MaryAnn Lampman (Chet), Williamsport, Helen, Duryea, Elaine Tino (Chris), Drums, James, Somerset, N.J., Frank, Duryea; and son-in-law, Deacon Michael Imbrogno M.D., Plains; her grandchildren, Amy Twist (Todd), Robyn Gross (Tim), Rebecca Hunsinger, Christopher Tino (Elizabeth), and Noelle Imbrogno; and her great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Isabella, Natalie, Jacob, Ethan, and Frances; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

We would also like to acknowledge Little Flower Manor for the care and compassion shown to our mother in the last three months, especially in her final days. In addition, we would like to thank her in-home caregivers, Denise, Cheryl, Sherry, Mary, and most importantly, Ellen Sickler.

Relatives and friends are invited to join her family at a Mass of Christian burial at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea on Tuesday, September 6th, at 11:00 a.m.
