Mary J. Milewski, 89, of Dupont, passed away on Saturday, November 19th at the Linwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Scranton. She was born in Avoca, April 6th, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes (Hornick) Soy.
Mary was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She attended Avoca schools. Mary was employed by the local garment industry for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by he husband of 55 years, Edwin P. Milewski, who died April 1st, 2005 and her siblings, Helen, Barbara and Joseph.
She is survived by her son, Joseph and his wife, Judith Milewski of Eynon and her step-grandchild, Anita Galdieri. Also surviving are her siblings, Frank Soy of NJ, Margaret Milewski of Pittston, John Soy of Avoca, and Dorothy Ziobro of NJ as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd at 9:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, November 22nd from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
