Florence (Siglin) Bryk, 78, of Avoca, passed away on Monday, January 23rd at the Mt. View Care Center, Scranton. She was born in Avoca, November 25th, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Phillip and Angela (Serafin) Siglin.
Florence was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of Avoca High School. After high school, she worked many years for Consolidated Moldings and she retired from Preferred Meals, Moosic. Florence enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Bryk, who died May 5th, 2012 and her son Walter Bryk, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Debra and Gina Bryk of Avoca, Donald Bryk and his wife, Rebecca of Ransom, and Richard Bryk of Avoca. Also surviving is her sister, Helen Deskis of CT and grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, and Cassidy Bryk; step-grandson, Nicholi Nocella; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 26th at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, January 25th from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
