Theresa (Orleski) Cebula, 83, of Hughestown, passed away on Monday, January 23rd at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born in Duryea, January 23rd, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella (Abent) Orleski.
Theresa was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. Theresa worked for many years in the local garment industry. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Cebula, who died on July 26th, 2008 as well as her sisters, Ceil Bechtold and Stella Miller.
She is survived by her sons, Michael and his wife, Nancy of Bear Creek, John of Dupont, James of Dupont, Joseph and his wife, Tracy of Falls, and Stanley and his wife, Heather of Hughestown; and daughters, Helen and her husband, David Donovan of Duryea and Lori and her husband, Stanley Stempien of Duryea. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Michael of Harding, John of Taylor, Edward of Harding, and Vincent, of Hughestown; her sister, Virginia Holleran, of Pittston Twp.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27th at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish Church, 535 N. Main St., Pittston. Friends may call on Thursday evening, January 26th from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap Veterans Cemetery.
