Robert F. Brown


Robert F. Brown, 77, of Pittston, passed away on Wednesday, February 1st at the Celtic Hospice Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Pittston, June 13th, 1939, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna Mae (Finley) Brown.

Robert was a member of St. John The Evangelist Church, Pittston. He was a graduate of Pittston High School. After high school, he joined the US Army. Upon his return from the US Army, Robert relocated to Trenton NJ and worked until his retirement for the Trenton State College.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Dawe and Dorothy Brown; and brothers, Earl, Donny, Joseph, and Edwin Brown.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas Brown of Wilkes-Barre and Shirley Shannon of Wilkes-Barre and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday February 6th at 6:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St. with Fr. Leo McKernan of St. John The Evangelist Church, Pittston officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Monday February 6th from 4pm until time of service. Interment will be held on Tuesday February 7th at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rock St., Hughestown with the AMVETS Honor Guard providing military honors.
