Martin D. Hall, 60, of Scranton, passed away on Tuesday, February 7th. He was born in Avoca, January 20th, 1957 and was the son of the late Martin I. Hall and Mary Josephine (McDermott) Hall.
Marty was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. In 1977, he joined the US Army National Guard and served for over 34 years. He was placed into active duty in 2002 and served during Operation Enduring Freedom. Throughout his life, he worked for Allied Services and was currently employed by Mohegan Sun, in security.
In addition to his parents, Martin is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lasher Hall, who died April 8th, 2016; his brother, William Hall; and sisters, Ann Marie Hall and Jean Hall Stoss.
Martin is survived by his daughter, Jill Monko and her husband, Christopher of West Wyoming; his sisters, Peggy Morgan of West Pittston and Mary Hall of Pittston; as well as nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday, February 13th at 8:00pm with Fr. Phillip Sladicka of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca officiating. Friends may call for visitation from 5pm until time of service. Interment will be held on Tuesday, February 14th at 10:30am at the Cathedral Cemetery, Oram St., Scranton. AMVETS Honor Guard will provide military honors.
