Robert J. Marsh, 79, of Dupont, passed away on Monday, March 6th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Dupont, December 28th, 1937 and was the son of the late Peter J. and Effie (Shinski) Marsh.
Robert was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. He was a 1955 graduate of Dupont High School. Robert retired from United Parcel Services in 1994 after over 25 years of employment. He was a member of the Polish American Citizen’s Club, Dupont. Robert was also a founding member and coach of the Dupont Athletic Association. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Renee Marsh; his brother, Edward Marsh; and sisters, Ruth Bendler and Beatrice Seprish.
Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Mary Ann (Bau) Marsh; his son, Eric and his wife, Michele Pisano Marsh of Emmaus, PA; daughter, Karen Lello and her husband, Patrick of Dupont; as well as seven grandchildren, Gene, Brian, Patrick, Timothy, Robert, Matthew, and Alex; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Henry; and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call for visitation from 9:00am until time of Mass. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
