Genevieve T. Perrins


Genevieve T. Perrins, 89, of Duryea, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday April 5th at her home. She was born in Duryea on February 19th, 1928 and was the daughter of the late John and Francis (Kuzola) Panetski.

Genevieve was a lifelong, dedicated member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish (Holy Rosary Church), Duryea. She was an academic scholarship honor graduate of Duryea High School, class of 1946, and an avid sports fan. She liked her baseball, basketball and football.

Genevieve will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and for the many sacrifices that she made for her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Samuel Perrins, who passed away on April 19th, 2013; her son, Eugene; her son-in-law, Alan Celusniak; sisters, Romaine Massara, Edna McHale, Clara Wesolowski, and Helen Panetski; her brothers, Felix, Martin, Adam, Stanley, Charles, Joseph, Stephen, and Peter, who was killed in the Korean War.

Genevieve is survived by her daughters, Maureen Celusniak, Duryea and Frances and her husband, James Tomlin of Bellbrook, Ohio; son, Rev. Samuel, at home; grandchildren, Alan Celusniak, Michael Celusniak and his fiancée, Susan Byno, Jonathan and his wife, Desiree Celusniak, Justin and his wife, Brittany Tomlin, Joshua and Jesse Tomlin, and Leslie and her husband, John Huntingcut; and great-grandchildren, Ariana, Jaylynn, Michael Jr., Penelope, Xander, and Xavier.

Memorial remembrances may be made in Genevieve’s name to the Hospice of The Sacred Heart, 800 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 or Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea, PA 18642

The Perrins family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kindness, care, and compassion.

A mass of Christian was held on Monday, April 10th at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church (Holy Rosary Church), Duryea with Fr. John V. Polednak officiating. Interment was held at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. Calling hours were privately held at the request of the deceased and the family at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
