Allyse Fonzo


Allyse Fonzo, 28, of West Pittston, passed away on Thursday, April 20th at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was born in Pittston, June 12th, 1988 and was the daughter of Vincent and Kathryn (Bartush) Fonzo.

Allyse was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist, Parish Church, Pittston. She was a 2006 graduate of Pittston Area High School. Allyse attended the Fortis Institute and also the Empire Beauty Academy. Throughout the years, Allyse was employed by Cooper’s Seafood, Bruno’s Market, Barnes and Noble Bookstore and she was currently employed the Conduent Corp, Moosic. She enjoyed all things pertaining to Disney, Harry Potter and other books published by J.K. Rowling and also enjoyed attending drag shows. She was a kind, compassionate, and loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Anthony Bartush Sr. and paternal grandfather, Charles Fonzo.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 24th at 9:30am at Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish Church, 535 N. Main St., Pittston with Fr. Jeffrey Walsh officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Sunday evening, April 23rd from 5-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning. There will be no procession from the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 327 N. Washington Ave. #501, Scranton, PA 18505.
