Rose Mary Kapish, 73, of Duryea, passed away on Wednesday, May 24th at Wesley Village Nursing and Rehab Center, Pittston. She was born in Pittston, June 24th, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Anna (Judge) Banellis.
Rose Mary was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish (Holy Rosary Church), Duryea. She was a graduate of West Pittston High School. She worked briefly for the Old River Road Bakery and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and she will be deeply missed by all who new and loved her.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her son, John Kapish, who died March 25th, 1988; her brother, James and her sister, Marie Theresa Yuhas.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley Kapish III of Duryea and Charlie Kapish and his wife, Janelle of Pittston Twp. Also surviving are her granddaughter, Sophia Rose Kapish and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30th at 9:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. John V. Polednak officiating. Friends may call on Monday evening, May 29th from 5pm-8pm. Interment will be held at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.
