Marion Young, 91, of Duryea, passed away on Sunday, June 11th at her home. She was born in Duryea, November 4th, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Edna (Rava) Levandoski.
Marion was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish (Holy Rosary Church), Duryea. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. Marion worked for Maxson Electronics, Old Forge for over 20 years and she retired from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development after several years of service. Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Young, who passed away August 27th, 2007; her brothers, Edward and Charles Levandoski; sisters, Stella Swickel, Margaret Stanavage, and Betty Tonkin; and her son-in-law, John “Jack” Grudzinski.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Grudzinski of Duryea and son, Richard Young of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Todd Grudzinski, Stacy Cabelly, Diana Panek, and Sherry Colwell. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15th at 10:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Due to renovations at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Duryea, a mass of Christian burial will be held at Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca at 10:30am with Fr. John V. Polednak officiating. Friends may call on Thursday morning, June 15th at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea from 9am-until time of service. Interment will be held at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.
