Clorinda Slusarczyk


Clorinda Slusarczyk, 82, of Avoca, passed away on Friday, June 23rd at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was born in West Side, Scranton September 26th, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Clorinda (Rolletta) Fiorini.

Clorinda was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. After high school, Clorinda worked in the local garment industry. She retired from Topps Chewing Gum after many years of employment. She also worked part-time in the bakery department of Mr. Z’s grocery store, Duryea. Clorinda loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of her family, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Henry Jr., who died November 30th 1982, as well as brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Henry Slusarczyk; her son, Edward and his wife, Patricia of Drums; her granddaughter, Kayla of Drums; her sister, Ann “Nancy” Sellano, Phoenixville, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26th at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening, June 25th from 4-7pm. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
