Judy Durkin Craig, 73, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 30th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Avoca, April 17th, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Mary Hunt Durkin.
Judy was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church (St. Mary’s Church), Avoca. She was a graduate of Avoca High School. During her life, she was involved in the Avoca Community Minstrels and Relay for Life. Judy was employed by Penguin Putnam Distribution.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her grandmother, Jule Hunt and her aunt, Jean Reedy as well as her brother, Thomas Durkin and her niece, Kerri Durkin Valenti.
Judy is survived by her four children, Mary and her husband, James Bone; Richard and his wife, Debbie; Christine and husband, James Wilk; and William Craig. Also surviving, the love of her life, her grandchildren, Katie; Meaghan and Jennifer Bone; Kelly Argenio; Allie and TJ Craig; Albert, Ryan and Michael Barney; Brandon Mickavicz; Joclyn, James; Janelle Wilk; and Cody and Lily Craig as well as great-granddaughter, Makenzie Argenio.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 3rd at 9:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Queen of the Apostles Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, August 2nd from 5-8pm.
Judy’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Celtic Hospice for there kindness, compassion, and care that was given to Judy over the last several weeks.
