Stella “Honey” Kotula, 89, of Dupont, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Regional Hospital Hospital of Scranton. She was born in Dupont, February 27th, 1928 and was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Kociolek) Kotula.
Honey attended Dupont High School. She retired from the Sauqoit Silk Mill. She was a former past president of the Dupont VFW Post 4909 Ladies Auxiliary in which she was very active member. She was an active member of Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, Dupont. Stella served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and was a member of The Adoration Society of Holy Mother of Sorrows. Honey enjoyed her independence. She enjoyed a very active lifestyle and enjoyed being with her family and many close friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Michael A. Kotula, Walter G. Kotula, and Paul Kotula Sr.
Stella is survived by her nieces and nephews, Michael A Kotula Jr., Deborah Kotula Kellar and her husband, Robert, Ann Kotula, Sharon Kotula, Valerie Alba and Paul Kotula Jr., as well as her sister-in-law, Dolores Kotula and numerous great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, many cousins, and lifelong friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16th at 1:30pm from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 2pm at Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, 212 Wyoming Ave., Dupont with Fr. Zbigniew Dawid, officiating. Friends may call on Friday, September 15th from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dupont PA Clock Fund, 600 Chestnut St., Dupont, PA 18641 or the PTA of Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, 212 Wyoming Ave., Dupont.
