Mildred (Tinklepaugh) Felter, 89, of Moosic, died on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Riverside Nursing and Rehab Center, Taylor. Born in Moosic on Jan 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Jacob Tinklepaugh.
Mildred was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca, where she was a past member of the Alter and Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Moosic High School and was employed by the Globe Store in Scranton. She was an active parent with the Moosic Little League and fulltime mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Michael Felter and infant brother, Harold Tinklepaugh.
Mildred is survived by sons, Michael and his wife, Diane of Moosic, Paul and his wife, Susan of Winter Park, FL, and Brian and wife, Jen of North Port FL; grandchildren, Maureen Altmire, Karyn Waters, Valerie Heinsch, Matthew Felter, Amanda Felter, Michael and Alex Felter, Joshua Felter, Maddalena Mendez, Sophia Ferro and Cora Ferro; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Rafalko of Fleminfton, NJ.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 20 at 10:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:30am at Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr, Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening September 19, from 6-8pm. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
