David Perks

David Perks, 65, of Avoca went home to the Lord on Thursday, September 21st. David was born in Washington D.C., June 3, 1952, and was the son of the late Earl and Agnes Perks.

David was the loving husband to Mary (Doran) Perks and loving father to Mary (Jair) Novajosky, Rose (Benny) Pritchyk, David (Christina) Perks, and Joseph (Karla McKeel) Perks. He was loving grandfather to Jair and Isabella Novajosky, Danica and Benny Pritchyk, and Aubrey and David Perks III, who he adored and loved immensely.

David loved nothing more than being with his family, especially family vacations, holidays and attending Flyers games. He worked at Bridon American for many years and was active in his community. He served as a Eucharistic Minister for Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. He donated blood frequently to the American Red Cross until he became sick, and he was coach to his children’s sports teams and didn’t miss any activities his children were in. He was their biggest fan.

Also surviving David are brothers, Larry (Adrianne) Perks, Ronald Perks, Daniel Perks and sister, Patricia Perks along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. This was a tremendous loss for his family and friends.

The family would like to thank Fr. Phillip Sladicka, Dr. Linda Thomas, Kari Machelli and all the staff at the Wright Center, Dr. Lisa Thomas and Staff, Dr. Akhil Das and staff of Thomas Jefferson, along with all family and friends who David loved like family for all their kindness, love and support.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 10:30am at Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Saturday morning, September 30th from 9:30am until time of mass. Interment service will be privately held.
