Ann Marie (Ruda) Klimek, 90, of Dupont, passed away on Monday, October 9th 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Dupont, July 19, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Wojciek) Ruda.
Ann was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of Dupont High School. Ann worked for over 40 years in the local garment industry and was a member of the ILGWU. She was also a member of the Polka Lites, a social member of the Dupont Polish Club and the Dupont VFW. She very much enjoyed spending time in her garden and trips to the casino, but most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Klimek, who died in 1987, and brothers, Joseph, Edward and Walter Ruda.
She is survived by he children, Ronald and his wife, Jean of Shavertown, Cheryl Fahey of Old Forge, Brian Klimek of Dupont and Denise Misson and her husband, Brian of Dupont. Also surviving is her sister, Mildred Ruda, of Dupont; her grandchildren, Ann Polachek, Tom Klimek, Beth Thompson, Kevin and Kristin Fahey, and Marc George; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 12, from 9:00am at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, October 11th from 6-8pm. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
