Mae Kathryn Davies-Welliver, of Duryea, formerly of Hughestown, passed away quietly November 23, 2017 at Wesley Village, surrounded by loved ones.
Mae was a life-long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hughestown and was a member of the WELCA and Eastern Star Wyoming #1. She was a graduate of Hughestown High School and was a guidance office secretary at Pittston Area High School until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Welliver, parents, and brothers Daniel Davis, Robert Davis, and Warren Jenkes.
She is survived by her sons, Vaughn Jenkes and wife, Patricia Ph.D., Huntington Beach, CA; Bill Welliver, and wife Janice, West Wyoming; her beloved sister-in-law, caregiver, and best friend Carolyn Jenkes, Duryea; grandchildren Megan Kelly and husband Jack, West Pittston, Susan Patton and husband Daniel, West Wyoming, Sarah Mecca and husband Scott, West Wyoming, great-grandchildren Emily Schneider, West Wyoming, Adam, Kacey and Connor Kelly, West Pittston, and Billy, Natalia, and Wynter Mecca, West Wyoming; numerous nieces and nephews, including Dr. Tammy Jenkes McVeigh, Mt. Kisco, NY, and great-niece and nephew Katelyn and Ryan McVeigh, Mt Kisco, NY.
Mae was a strong and independent woman who loved spending time with her family and reminiscing about the many years spending summers and holidays in Honesdale on the family farm. She was overflowing with information about family history and was proud of her Welsh Heritage and known for her love of animals. She enriched the lives of all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Funeral arrangements will be private and at the convenience of the family.
