Florence Nayavich, 76, of Pittston Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Duryea, January 12, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Michael and Janet (Fahey) Lizonitz.
Florence was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish Church, Pittston. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. She retired from the McNamara Insurance Company, Pittston, where she worked as a secretary for many years. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Nayavich, who died on April 24, 1995, and her children, Vincent and Tina Marie Nayavich.
She is survived by her children, David and his wife JoAnn of West Wyoming, William L. Nayavich and wife, Kim Olson of Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; daughters Linda Truskowski of Yatesville and Debby and her husband, Keith Fleming of Pittston Twp.; and niece, Crystal O’Boyle Folweiler whom she loved and raised as her own and her husband, Angelo Jr. of Dupont. Also surviving are her sister, Janet Sciandra of Hughestown; brothers, Peter of Exeter and Michael and his wife, Patricia of Hughestown, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Florence’s family would like to thank Dr. James Bruno and his staff for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Florence for the last 40 years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 21st at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc 255 McAlpine St. Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 9:30am at Our Lady Of The Eucharist Church, Main St. Pittston with Fr. Jeffrey Walsh officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday evening December 20th from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Duryea.
