Frank “Sonny” Glomb, 74, of Avoca, passed away on Saturday, December 23rd at his home. He was born in Avoca, October 29th, 1943 and was the son of the late Frank and Sarah (Legg) Glomb.
Frank attended Avoca High School. He was a very talented landscaper and gardener who retired from the Mid-Way Garden Center with over 30 years of employment. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family on their many camping trips over the years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Glomb and sisters, Rosalie Wentz and Arlene Betzhold.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Mary (Arena) Glomb, and his son, Frank Glomb, Jr. Also surviving is his sister, Joan Yopconka of Allentown; his loving niece, Cheryl Sekelsky and her husband, Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Fr. Joseph Elston of St. Joseph Marello Parish officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, December 27th from 5-8 pm. Interment will be privately held.
