Carol A. Neare


Carol A. Neare, 74, of Pittston Twp. passed away on Sunday, January 7th at The Pines Senior Living, Clarks-Summit, where she was a resident for two months. She was born in Pittston Twp. on August 15, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bella (Menichini) Kozak.

Carol was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish Church, Pittston. She was a graduate of Pittston Twp. High School and Empire Beauty School. Carol worked for many years in the cosmetology field and later worked as a certified nurse’s aide in home healthcare. She also loved to spend time outdoors tending to her garden. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Joe Neare and son, Ray Joseph, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Chilson and her husband, Mark of Pittston Twp.; grandchildren, Sean, Alyssa, Zachary, and Aleksander; and great-granddaughter, Kaliarah. She adored and cherished them all. Also surviving is her brother, Joseph Kozak, Jr. of Wilkes-Barre.

Carol’s family would like to thank Dr. Stephanie Cabello, Dr Wasseem Butt, and Dr. Salman Mirza, Advanced Home Healthcare Specialists of Dunmore, and Asera Care Hospice, Clarks-Summit for their compassion and excellent care. Carol’s daughter would like to thank the administration and entire staff at the Pines Senior Living for their dedication, compassion, and exceptional care given to Carol.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 13 at St. Joseph Marello Parish Church, 237 William St., Pittston at 9:30 am with Fr. Joseph Elston officiating. Friends may call for visitation Saturday morning from 8:30 am until time of mass.
