Raymond F. Sekelsky, Jr.


Raymond F. Sekelsky, Jr., 53, of Duryea, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Duryea, December 5, 1964 and was the son of the Joan (Warunek) Jaksina and the late Raymond F. Sekelsky, Sr. and step-father the late Ronald Jaksina.

Ray was a 1982 graduate of Pittston Area High School. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served as a medic during Desert Storm and served with the Fleet Hospital 5. After his discharge from the Navy, he was employed by Veteran Affairs and worked in many of the VA Medical hospitals in different states. He also worked for the Office of Disabled Veterans, Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to his mother, Raymond is survived by his sister, Lynn Jumper of Duryea; his nieces and nephews, Katlyn Jumper of Hershey, PA, Douglas Jumper III of South Carolina and Lauren Jumper of Duryea; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday morning, February 12th at 11:00am at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Stefan Biggs of the Parker Hill Community Church officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening, February 11th from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
