Ann E. “Nan” Druffner


Ann E. “Nan” Druffner, 91, of Avoca passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her home. She was born in Avoca, January 24, 1927 and was the daughter of the late George R. Druffner and Ella P. (Quinn) Druffner.

Ann was a member of Queen of the Apostles Church, Avoca. She was a graduate of Avoca High School. After high school, she attended St. Elizabeth College in Morristown, NJ where she obtained a degree in biology. Ann also attended Marywood University, Wilkes-University, and Penn State University, Dallas with a master in education. She retired from Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre after many years of employment.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Marie, Ellen, Joanne, Christian, and George Druffner.

Nan is survived by her nephews, George Druffner III and his wife Fran of Ellicott City, MD, Martin Druffner and his wife Lynn of Hopkinton, MA; her niece, Ann Marie Druffner Harsham and husband Peter of NYC; grand-nieces, Rita, Sara, Abigail and Olivia; and her sister-in-law, Rose Druffner of Berkeley Heights, NJ.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 9:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at Queen of the Apostles Church, Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, February 20th from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca.
