Jennie O’Hop, 88, of Duryea passed away on Tuesday, February 27th at the Riverside Rehab and Nursing Center, Taylor. Born in Avoca, August 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John Kozloski and Jennie Tripus Korick.
Jennie was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Duryea. She was a graduate of Avoca High School and a graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a registered nurse for Mercy Hospital, Scranton and retired from Adams Manor Nursing Facility, Scranton.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Resavy, who died in 2010 and her brothers, Joseph and John Kozloski.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, George O’Hop; her son George, Jr. and his wife Ann Marie of Virgina, and David and his wife Christine of Avoca. Also surviving are her granddaughters, Nichole and Brittney O’Hop; step-grandson Robert Vols and his wife Mary; step-great-grandchildren Kayla, Benjamin and Robbie of TN; and many nieces and nephews.
Jennie’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Riverside Nursing and rehab center, Taylor, the nurses of Compassionate Care Hospice, and Dr. Guy Fasciana and his staff for their excellent care, compassion, and support.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. John Polednak officiating. Friends may call on Saturday morning, March 3rd from 9am until 10:30am at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be held at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.
