Carol Ann Hadley


Carol Ann Hadley, 72, of Avoca, passed away on Friday, March 30th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Brooklyn, NY April 22, 1945 and was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Hadley.

Carol was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. She attended St. Mary’s Parochial School, Avoca and was a graduate of Northeast High School and Jerrytone Beauty School. She was employed by the Woodlands Inn and Resort for over 30 years. Past employers included Pocono Downs Race Track, Preno’s, Mario’s and Bubby’s restaurants, and Grace Ritz Beauty Salon, Avoca. Carol was a member of the West Side Social Club and the Avoca VFW Post 8335.

Carol was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She loved children, animals and anything Irish. Carol loved spending time and traveling with her companion of twenty-two years Horst Momberg.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William Hadley Jr.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Margaret Sardo and Julia Harvey; niece Christine and a nephew William III; great-nephew Kyle and great-nieces Brittany, Alexis and Jessica. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:00am at Queen of the Apostles Church, Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:00am until time of mass.
