Albert Kurtinitis


Albert Kurtinitis, 86, of Dupont, passed away on Thursday, April 19th at the Mountain View Care Center, Scranton. He was born in Pittston, November 10, 1931 and was the son of the late William and Florence (Lovenduski) Kurtinitis.

Albert was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. He attended Pittston Area Schools. He worked as a member of Local 30 Brick Layers Union for more than 40 years, until his retirement.

Albert was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Red Rock. He spent winters in Florida for the last 17 years. He was a hard-working, caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Eleanor Bartuska, Dorothy Eaton and brother, Bernard Kurtinitis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dolores Zielinski Kurtinitis; daughter, Deborah Lello and her husband, Tom of Moosic; grandchildren, Jeffrey Doran and his wife Jacelyn and their children Connor and Caitlin Doran of Archbald; and step-grandson, Anthony Lello and his wife Anita and their children Evanna and Tomaso Lello of Clarks Summit. Also surviving are his brothers, William Kurtinitis, Pittston, Robert Kurtinitis and wife Rita of Dallas; sisters, Leona Kurtinitis, Philadelphia and Jean Harter of Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Albert’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Regional Hospital, Scranton and also the nurses and staff of the Mountain View Care Center, Scranton for their kindness, care, and support given to Albert and his family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23rd at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 4-7pm. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, 205 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
