Michaline (Smigelski) Temperino


Michaline (Smigelski) Temperino, 78, of Avoca, passed away on Tuesday, May 8th at St. Mary’s Villa, Elmhurst Twp. She was born in Avoca, August 18, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Vermac) Smigelski.

Michaline was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca (SS Peter and Paul Church). She was a graduate of Duryea High School and the Hahnemann School of Nursing, Scranton. Michaline worked as a registered nurse for well over 25 years. She worked for Dr. Lewis Druffner, Avoca and retired from the office of Dr. Martin Moran, Dupont. She was also involved in her family business, The Valley Meat and Deli, Avoca along with her husband Tim.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gaspare “Tim” Temperino; her son, Paul Temperino; and her daughter, Michele Kozel.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Temperino of NY, NY; her grandchildren, Nicholas Kozel, Gabriella, Domonic, and Julia Temperino; her brother, Peter Smigelski Jr. and his wife Irene of Florida; her aunt, Barbara Galenas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 15, at 11:00am at Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca, PA with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00am until time of mass. Interment will be held at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Avoca.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Resident Activities Fund at St. Mary’s Villa, 516 St. Mary’s Villa Rd., Elmhurst Twp., PA 18444
