John Miller, 89, of Suscon, passed away on Monday, May 14th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Suscon, July 3rd, 1928 and was the son of the late Jess and Catherine (Flannery) Miller.
Jack was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. He attended Pittston Twp. Schools. Jack retired from Atlas Chain after many years of employment. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Wruble and her husband, Carl; Mary Jane Wruble and her husband, John; his brother, Jess and his wife, Martha Miller; his sister–in-law, Rosie Miller; grandson, Ryan Miller; daughter-in-law, Donna Miller; and nephews, David and Joseph Miller.
Jack is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Dolores Hornick Miller; his children, John “Jack” Miller, Jr., Michael Miller, and Patricia “Patti” Fasciana and her husband Dr. Guy Fasciana all of Suscon; Mark Miller and his wife Brooke of Clarks Summit, Mary Catherine and her husband, Patrick Rouse of Clifton Twp.; and Eric Miller of Suscon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason, John, Elise, Michael, Kyle, and Eryn Miller, Michael Fasciana, Elizabeth Daley, Melissa Chiumento, and Sarah and Emily Rouse, as well as five great-grandchildren; his brother, George Miller, Sr. of Plains; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack’s family would like to thank his son-in-law, Dr. Guy Fasciana, Dr. Robert Fiorelli, Dr. Mark Bernardi, Fr. Joseph Elston, and Superior Home, Health, and Hospice for their excellent care, kindness, and compassion that they have shown to Jack.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 18th at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, May 17th from 4pm-7pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to Sacred Heart Church for the mass. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
