Irene Eustice

Irene Eustice, of Dupont, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at her home. She was born and raised in Dupont and was the daughter of the late Antoni and Aniela “Nellie” (Jachera) Dudzinski.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a graduate of Dupont High School. Irene retired from the Steingut Dress Factory.

Family was at Irene’s heart. She was a fiercely devoted mother who loved her children and adored her grandchildren. She was born into a family of nine children and shared a deep bond with her brother, Anthony “Ducky” Dudzinski. Ducky lived with Irene his entire life. He gave her away at her wedding and she lovingly cared for him prior to his death. There’s no doubt that Ducky welcomed her with open arms to her eternal home upon her passing.

Irene had the heart of a warrior. She battled and survived four different cancers and her strength and will knew no bounds. Throughout it all, she maintained tremendous dignity and grace. She was a pious devotee of St. Anne and attended the local Novena until health prevented her from doing so. She found great joy in quilting, attending local auctions, and spending time with her family. Her love, strength and devotion live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John T. Eustice Sr., who died in 1997 as well as her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Ziobro and her husband Ronald of Dupont, John Eustice Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Exeter and Melissa Eustice of Dupont; her grandchildren, Dana Ungureit and husband Christopher, Mary Beth Yashinski and her husband Lenny, Ronald Ziobro II, Agnes and Shane Scanlan, and John Eustice; two great-grandsons Frank and Gage Scanlan; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 9:00am from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Due to the renovations of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Church, Dupont a mass of Christian burial will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Monday evening, July 2nd from 5-8pm. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paint Pittston Pink or to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
