David J. Yuhas


David J. Yuhas, 61, of Clarks Summit, passed away on Saturday, July 28th at the Regional Hospital, Scranton. He was born in Duryea, December 20, 1956 and was the son of the late Joseph and Joan (Kalafut) Yuhas.

David was a 1974 graduate of Pittston Area high School. He was employed by Schott North America, Duryea for the last 34 years and while working for Schott he obtained a degree in engineering technology from Penn State University. David also worked as a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years and also an active member of the Germania Hose Company Fire, Boat and Scuba. He was a loving husband, brother and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Robert Yuhas.

David is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Helen (Winn) Yuhas; his brothers, Joseph and wife Mary Beth of Carlsbad, CA and Thomas and his wife Carolyn of Dowingtown, PA; his sister Mary Ellen and her husband Al Dorundo of Boca Raton, FL.; and sister-in –law Rita Yuhas, of Duryea. Also surviving are nephews, Nicholas, Michael and Devon Yuhas, Alanna and Evan Dorundo, and Laura Whitelock as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Germania Hose Company, 435 Foote Ave., Duryea, PA 18642

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3rd at 10:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. John V. Polednak officiating. Friends may call on Friday morning, August 3rd from 8:30am until time of service. Interment will take place at a later date
