Robert Wesley Perrins


Robert Wesley Perrins, formerly of Avoca, died on Tuesday, December 25 at the Old Forge Manor, where he was residing. He was born in Plains on January 29, 1934 and was the son of the late George and Isabel Griffin Perrins.

He was a member of St. John’s Primitive Methodist Church, Avoca, where he served as a past trustee and Deacon. He attended Dupont schools and retired from DeFazio Express Trucking Company after many years of employment. Robert was a member of the Teamsters Local 229 and also a member of the Model Train Collection Association. He was an avid collector of toy trains and enjoyed the Christmas season, setting up and displaying his collection for family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie (Darr) Perrins, who died January 7, 2017; sisters: Eleanor Perrins, Elizabeth Francis, Sara Bisbing and Pearl Bryk; brothers: Phillip, George, Russell, Joseph, and Arthur, and Samuel Perrins.

He is survived by his brother, Paul Perrins and his wife Sandra of Dupont and sister, Ruth Gattuso of Yatesville. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Old Forge Manor and Hospice of The Sacred Heart for the great care they provided to Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29th at 6:00pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with his nephew Rev. Samuel Perrins officiating. Friends may call on Saturday December 29th from 4pm until time of service. Interment will be held at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Primitive Methodist Church, 316 Main St., Avoca, PA 18641.
