Agnes Lyback, 79, of Duryea, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes- Barre. Born in Pittston, September 28, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sarah Kalson Grobosky.
Agnes was a graduate of Duryea High School. She retired from Reilly Associates, West Pittston after 22 years of employment. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, and being with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Louis Angelo Lyback, who died January 31, 2011 and her brothers; Michael and Stanley Grobosky.
She is survived by her children; Louis, of Harrisburg, James and wife Diane, of New Milford, NJ, Anthony and wife Cheryl, of Avoca, Mary Denise Lyback, of Oregon, John of Ohio, Randy and wife Jude, of Dupont and David, of Plains. Her siblings; Rose Marie Grobosky and Tina McDonald both of Pittston, Thomas Grobosky, of Pittston and Edward and wife Bernice of Ohio. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon, February 2nd at 4pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Michael Shambora of the Moosic United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call on Saturday afternoon from 2pm until time of service. Interment will be held at a later date.
