Albert B. McGuire, 77, of Duryea, who was born and raised in Avoca, passed away on Friday, March 1st 2019 at the Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre. He was born September 19, 1941 and was the son of the late George and Nellie (McKeefe) McGuire.
Albert was a member of the Messiah PM Church, Bear Creek Twp. He was a 1960 graduate of Avoca High School and was a former volunteer and lifetime member of the Avoca Hose Company.
His love was roller skating and working at the former Pop’s Skating Rink, Avoca.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Margaret and Helen McGuire and Ester Rice and his brothers George, Jr., Louis and Charlie McGuire.
Albert is survived by his caretaker and skating partner Lorraine Kolc and daughter Sue Ann Polons.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 3pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Pastor Hadley Hayes of the Messiah PM Church, Bear Creek Twp. officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Sunday from 2pm until time of the service.
