James E. Homschek, 61, of Avoca, passed away on May 3, 2019 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Avoca on October 2, 1957 and was the son of the late Julius and Sarah “Sally” Singer Homschek.
James attended Pittston Area Schools. He worked for the Avoca Boro for many years and also for Main Pool and Supply Company, Avoca.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Hewitt; his brother, Michael “Mic” Homschek; and his brother, David M. Homschek, Sr.
He is survived by his brother, Rodney, of Avoca; his sister Mary Beth Sabitus of Old Boston; and many nieces and nephews.
A blessing service will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 1:00pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka of Queen of The Apostles Parish, Avoca officiating graveside services.
