Norman E. Resseguie


Norman E. Resseguie, 90, of Scranton and formerly of Mt. Cobb, passed away on Sunday, September 8th at the Regional Hospital, Scranton. He was born in Scranton, July 31, 1929 and was the son of the late Earl and Marion (Warnke) Resseguie.

He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Norman retired from Fitchburg Coated Products, Moosic after many years of employment. Norman was a lifelong member of Elm Park United Methodist Church and was a Freemason at Schiller Lodge #345. Norman loved spending time with his family and traveling with his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Martha.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Martha (Jones) Resseguie, who died August 27, 2018; daughters, Cynthia Brodowsky-Novak, Mary Lou Leonard and Kimberely Resseguie; and granddaughter, Jennifer Dempsey.

Norman is survived by his grandchildren, Dawn Dempsey and companion Robert Florek, Scranton, Christian Benjamin and wife Debbie, Factoryville, Corinne Dempsey and companion Damien Boland, Covington, Joy Thomas and husband Vinod, Atlanta, Adam Brodowsky, Mt Cobb, Jessica Leonard, Pittsburgh, Megan Lewis and husband Dale, Springbrook and his great-grandchildren; Andrew Gruden, Scranton, Calvin Paholec, Factoryville, Bobby Paholec, Factoryville, Natasha Poholec, Sacramento, Samantha Benjamin, Factoryville, James Lewis, Scott Twp, Logan and Grayson Chabal, Covington, Abraham and Alexandra Thomas, Atlanta, Blake Lewis, Springbrook.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 6:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Eric Luczak of the Maple Lake United Methodist Church and the Daleville Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call for visitation from 5:30pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lackawanna Blind Association.
