Albert Reap

Albert Reap, 83, of Avoca, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 5th 2021. He was born in Avoca on April 19, 1937 and was the son of the late John and Ethel Legg Reap.

Albert attended Avoca schools and then joined the United States Air Force. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Albert retired after serving 21 years with the US Air Force. He was very proud of his involvement with the Titan II Missile program and his extensive touring throughout the United States and many parts of the world.


Albert was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Hinds Reap, who died January 12, 2016; his siblings: Thomas, Betty, Jack, Dorothy, Paul and Robert; and his daughter-in-law Dawn Bowling.


Albert is survived by his sons: Steven Bowling of Salt Lake City, Utah, Alan Reap, of Etters, PA and Bruce Reap and his wife Marion, of Pittston; his grandchildren: Alyssa Reap, Christina Scott, Briana Hughes and Amanda Amos; great-grandchildren: Beckett Scott, Winrey Scott and Madilyn Hughes, his sister Carol Sokolowski, of Duryea, brother William Reap and his wife Kathy, of Avoca; and

several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:30am at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Dale Pepper of St. John’s Primitive Methodist Church, Avoca officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Friday evening, April 9, 2021 from 5-7pm. Interment will be held at the Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca. If attending the visitation or service please be mindful that masks and safe social distancing are mandatory per CDC regulations.
