Ann Hoover Dalton

Ann Hoover Dalton, 87, of Dupont passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She was born in Old Forge on January 22, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Alphonsus and Anna (Leahy) Hoover.

Ann was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Duryea. She was a graduate of Old Forge High School. Ann worked for Brookes Manufacturing, Old Forge, High Grade Manufacturing, Taylor and she retired from OZ-Gedney, Pittston Twp.


Ann resided with her daughter Patsy, great-grandson Kai, who was her rock, granddaughter Nikki, her big helper and best friend great-granddaughter Parker Jane. She enjoyed her special visits from her other best friend and great granddaughter Ela Schuback, hallmark movies with her buddy Ed, and her daily gossip sessions with her best friend, Phyllis. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William E. Dalton, Jr., who died July 23, 2014, and her brothers Joseph and James Hoover.


Also surviving are her sons, William Dalton and wife Karen of West Pittston and Robert Dalton and his wife Mary Pat of Swoyersville. Granddaughters; Amber, Sarah, Chelsea, Lindsay, Brittany, and Kalie grandsons Ernie and William (Billy), 13 great grandchildren her brother Francis “Herbie” Hoover. And several nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. Michael Bryant officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
