Arlene A. Skrzysowski, 80, of Dupont, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Dupont, she was the daughter of the late Sophie Orzech. She was a graduate of Dupont High School, Class of 1960 and was also educated in the Lackawanna Business School. After graduation, she was employed by Rex Shoe, formerly of Exeter, and Chamberlain, Scranton as an executive assistant. She then went on to work in several area dress factories eventually retiring from Steingut Dress Factory, formerly of Dupont.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Arlene was a former Girl Scout leader, involved with the Dupont Alumni Association, Polish Women's Alliance and the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary #189. She was a true friend and helped anyone in need.
Preceding her in the death was her husband, Thomas, who passed away January 11, 2022.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen Augenstein and her husband, Henry, Duryea; and grandchildren, Henry Thomas and Bradley Augenstein, whom she treasured and was always there to guide and cheer on.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont.
Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiesinger Funeral Home, 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
