Barbara L. Kleynowski, 76, of Hughestown, passed away on April 25, 2023, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Hughestown on June 3, 1946, and was the daughter of the late William F. Stahl and Florence Katherine “Kay” (Frank) Stahl.
After graduating from Northeast High School, Barbara received her nursing degree from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. She then devoted more than thirty years fulfilling one of her philosophies of happiness as a pediatric nurse. She retired from Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in 2009.
She was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching Pitt, her Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Philadelphia Eagles games. Her greatest love was her family and friends. She was a beloved wife, Mom, and Nana. She is irreplaceable and will be immensely missed.
She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where she served on church council and several committees.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Rick Stahl.
Barbara is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Richard John Kleynowski, her children; Rick Kleynowski and his wife Christine of Florida and her daughter Karen Kleynowski Kelly of Shavertown. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Richard and Caitlyn Kleynowski and Peyton and Ayden Feeney and his sister Elaine Holtz, of Pittston
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959
