Bernadette Marie (Little) Mawson, 72, of Pittston, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born in Pittston, May 15, 1949, she was the daughter of the late George and Ann (Alba) Little.
Bernadette was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish Church (Mt. Carmel Church) Pittston. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and was a graduate of the Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. She retired after 20 years of employment from Lee Nurses Registry, Scranton as a home healthcare nurse’s aide. Bernadette was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving companion Eugene Lesneski as well as her sisters; Charlotte Little, Georgeann Wright, and Matilda Little.
She is survived by her children; Kathleen Bellas, of Virginia Beach, Robert Mawson, of Moscow, David Mawson and his wife Kelly, of Avoca and Ann Lesneski, of Pittston. Also surviving are her 8
grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her sister Annette Jones and her husband George, of Duryea, brother George Little and his wife Irene, of Texas, her loving dog Bella, and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 9:30am at St. Joseph Marello Parish Church, 237 William St., Pittston with Fr. Jackson officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Tuesday evening, July 6, 2021, from 5pm-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church for the mass; there will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hughestown.
