Bernice Prebish, 63, of Pittston, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born in Pittston on August 24, 1959 and was the daughter of the late Bernard and Jean Marie (Keating) Kurtinitis.
Bernice was a graduate of Pittston Area High School class of 1978. She attended the Jerrytone School of Beauty, Pittston. Bernice worked many years for Lady Carroll garments, Pittston.
Bernice will be remembered for her vitality and her energized spirit. She was the life of every party and deeply valued her relationships. She cherished her family and shared a particularly close relationship with her grandson, Jaidin, whom she utterly adored. Bernice loved having conversations through which she got to know others very well. Her positive energy was contagious and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William Kurtinitis; sisters Jackie Kudey, Mary Rose Kurtinitis, Mary Alice Kurtinitis and Gina Sokolowsky; and her ex-spouse Michael Prebish, who died November 8, 2018.
She is survived by her daughter Nichole Prebish and companion David Moore, of Pittston; her son Michael Prebish and companion Lauren Pieczynski, of Dupont; and grandson Jaidin Morgans. Also surviving are her companion, Joseph Muller; her sister Michele Kurtinitis of Pittston; brothers Michael of Dallas and Bernard of Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday evening, January 28, 2023, at 7:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Fr. Andrii Dumnych and Cantor Diana Dzurisin of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston officiating. Friends may call on Saturday evening, January 28th from 5pm until time of service.
