Celine Larose, 81, of Pittston, passed away on February 12, 2023 at the home of her daughter in Avoca, under the care of Companionate Care Hospice. She was born in Springfield, MA on March 23, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Dzirkall Larose.
Celine was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish Church, Pittston. She was employed at Topps Chewing Gum until its closing and retired from Walmart, Pittston.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joel J. Gurley, who died on November 20, 1970; her son Joel E. Gurley; her sister Theresa Mascaro; and brothers-in-law Joseph Mascaro and Richard Michaels.
Celine is survived by her children, Charlene and her husband Gary Gaudette, of Springfield, MA, Lynn Naugle and her husband Ray, of Pittston, Edward Gurley and his companion Judy O’Boyle, of Duryea, Doreen Widdick and her companion Mike Moughan, of Pittston, Lori Gurley and her husband Robert Bejeski, of Avoca and David Trombly, of Duryea. Also surviving are her sister Marie Michaels, of Enfield, CT, twenty grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; her
beloved dog Lucky #7; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
