Charlene Andruzis

Charlene Andruzis, 71, of Avoca, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, November 12, 2022. She was born in Newark, NJ on June 3, 1951, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Blanch Novak Andruzis.

Charlene was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, NJ. She then attended St. Vincent School of Practical Nursing, NJ. She worked for several years for St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton. Charlene was a very active member of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church. She volunteered as a CCD Teacher, was a Eucharist Minister, and was evolved with the parish RCIA program. Charlene was also a volunteer with Foster Grandparent program and volunteered for many years at the West Pittston Day Care Center.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Christina Nossavage, niece Sharon Christina Nossavage, and brother-in-law Frank Nossavage.


Charlene is survived by her many cousins and friends.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 1:00pm at Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Saturday afternoon from 12:30pm until time of mass. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont.
