Chester “Zip” Haduck

Chester “Zip” Haduck, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the age of 93 at the VA Medical Center Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. “A Man of Steel”, he was born on March 24, 1929, and was the son of the late Carl and Caroline Sieczkowski Haduck. He was blessed into a large and loving family of six brothers and three sisters.

Zip was known to be adventurous during his teenage years; he traveled across country after he proudly joined the U.S. Army. He entered the trade of stone masonry and was a skilled artist at his trade, transforming his talent into beautiful works of art in the surrounding area. There was nothing he couldn’t accomplish.


He met his wife to be, Jeanne, and fell immediately in love. Their romance lasted all of 50 years and was blessed with three children and five wonderful grandchildren. They brought him so much joy and happiness. He was truly loved by his family.


An avid hunter and fisherman, Zip loved to go to his cabin and also enjoyed traveling across the USA and many countries with his beloved wife, family, and friends up until his later years.


Zip lost his wife Jeanne Emlaw Haduck in 2004. He is survived by his sons Michael and Jeffrey (wife Michelle), his daughter Jean Ann (husband George); his five grandchildren, Jessica, Julia, Lauren, Rachael, and Will, his sister Victoria Tetlak and many nieces and nephews.


Friends may call for visitation on Monday evening,

October 24, 2022, at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea from 5pm until 6:30pm a memorial service will be held at 6:30pm with Fr. Phillip Sladicka and Pastor Dom Petillo officiating.

So sorry for your loss. He was always a kind and happy man. I just ran into him a few months ago at Aldi’s in Pittston. He drove himself there to pick up a few items that he needed. We had a nice chat and I watched as he drove away. Pretty amazing!! Rest In Peace Zip.
